| Only 150 units of the Lexus LFA will make it to the U.S. |
|
We reported earlier this morning that Lexus will only offer two-year leases on the 500 LFA supercars it will produce in Dec. 2010, meaning Lexus won’t be selling any of the Lexus LFA units. Why? Mainly because Lexus feels that people will buy the car and sell it for a profit, damaging the ownership experience of the car.
Lexus spokesman Brian Smith told Inside Line that of the 500 units, only 150 LFAs will be coming to the United States. Canadian site wheels.ca said that the Lexus LFA lease deal could cost up to $10,000 a month, including interest, taxes and a hefty insurance premium. Click here for more news on the Lexus LFA. Refresher: Power for the Lexus LFA comes from a 4.8L V10 engine that makes 552-hp with a maximum torque of 354 lb-ft. Mated to a 6-speed Automated Sequential Gearbox, the LFA goes from 0-60 mph time of just 3.5 with a top speed of 202 mph.
