The legendary Ferrari P4/5 Competitizione hits the track for the first time today.Jim Glickenhaus and his team of motorsport veterans gave the car it's initial run on a short closed course circuit. According to Glickenhaus, the run went better than expected.
This one of a kind Ferrari managed the track by staying light on its feet. Due to the shortness of the circuit the P4/5 was only able to reach 3rd gear.

... The 918 may be at the N24 this year, along with the P4/5 Competizione, but the Audi will not be there, and these cars won't race against the Audi. The Audi out-classes each car as well. This car is based off of a 430, the 918 is essentially a prototype GT car with a hybrid system that makes it unclassifiable in GTE, and uncompetitive and unclassifiable in either Prototype class. I think likely the 918 will be much quicker, and as it is factory backed this P4/5 Competizione has no shot at being competitive against the 918. The P4/5 by the way, won't see action in any Le Mans-type racing. |
