Rumors are that Porsche are preparing a major announcement to kick-start the mood for 2011.

Will it be the 918 Spyder concept ready for production, a prototype ready to race at this year's 24 hour of Nurburging or the 918 Coupe or all of the above.

The last sportscar race of the 2010 season may have just finished in Argentina, but teams, drivers and partners have been busy working on the 2011 season for some time. Team Need for Speed is no exception. Following a great season where ‘Team Need for Speed by Schubert Motorsport’ finished third in the FiA GT3 Teams Championship, and we are happy to announce we’ll be competing in the 2011 Dunlop 24 hours of Dubai with the BMW Z4 GT3! As you may remember, we like to make each Team Need for Speed car individual.

It’s official: McLaren has confirmed its return to GT racing, 15 years after the McLaren F1 GTR won the 24 Heures du Mans on its debut.

The British carmaker has teamed up with CRS Racing, an UK-based racing team, to supply and support a limited number of GT3 racing incarnations of the McLaren MP4-12C for European-based private racers.

Audi's latest Le Mans challenger, the R18, has been revealed as a coupe. The car, which will replace the Le Mans-winning R15-plus, was unveiled at a launch in Ingolstadt tonight.

The R18 will be powered by a 3.7-liter six-cylinder turbo diesel and will soon begin an extensive testing program.

Ferrari revealed it's new 458 Challenge race car at Decembers 2010 Bologna motor show. This lighter and faster version of its mid-engined supercar will compete in the 2011  Ferrari Challenge race series.

The 458 Challenge has the same 4.5-litre V8 powerplant as the regular car, producing 562bhp at 9000rpm.

Change at the top of BMW Motorsport: Mario Theissen to hand over to Jens Marquardt on 1 July 2011.

Munich, 24 November 2010. After more than 12 uninterrupted years, a changeover at the head of BMW Motorsport is in the offing. On 30 June 2011, BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen will pass on the baton to his successor Jens Marquardt and retire from his post. 43-year-old Marquardt will join the company on 1 January 2011, going dual with Theissen for the first six months of the year to familiarise himself with his new task. This will ensure the seamless execution of the 2011 racing programme and preparations for the 2012 DTM project.

Audi presents GT4 concept

On the occasion of the DTM race in Shanghai, Audi presented the concept of a GT4 car based on the Audi TT. The TT, developed by the Technical Development and the Production divisions plus quattro GmbH, is intended to extend Audi's new modular customer sport program from 2012 forward.

 

Aston Martin Vantage GT4 Revised for 2011

Aston Martin Racing has launched a new Vantage GT4 for 2011. The new V8 engined racing car takes design inspiration from Aston Martin's V12 Vantage road car, giving it enhanced aerodynamics and increased downforce. It also has a remapped 4.7 litre engine offering increased levels of power and torque.
