According to Autocar, Honda is developing a gasoline-powered, sporty-coupe version of the CR-Z model including their performance Type R model.

The CR-Z currently comes as a hybrid with a 114 PS (112 bhp / 84 kW) 1.5 liter gasoline engine with an electric motor. Honda wants to broaden the CR-Z's range by using the newly developed 1.6 liter turbocharged engine for more powerful CR-Z's, specifically a CR-Z Type R.
